TLDR: Priest Bonus amplifies the progression and benefits of the boosts in a subscription, if the Domain of the subscription and Title match.
The Strategic Monetisation system deployed to StarGarden was first mentioned in print in 2012 in Shokrizade’s paper that led to him being hired as the first game economist at Microsoft that same year. SG’s business model is primarily powered by this new technology so it is relatively resistant to fluctuations as its revenue model focuses on superior subscription activity, not asset speculation.
There are 20 subscription options in SG, one for each Domain. Only one can be selected at a time and only the first 8 Arrival Domains are available to new players. The other 12 subscription options are prestige level subscriptions and have to be unlocked by players who have achieved sufficient to unlock them. Unlocking any of the six Forbidden Domain Subscriptions could take a player several months of daily play.
Being Subscribed in a Domain increases your , and advanced Domains are harder to generate Domain Affinity for. Subscriptions also increase the amount of StarGarden Ingredients that you can earn a day in that Domain. Higher tier Domains have more rare (and more valuable) Ingredients, so having access to the advanced Subscriptions is advantageous.
The Quests that a player generates and can select from are strongly influenced by a player’s Domain Priest Level. Better Quests give better rewards to a larger number of players on the StarGarden, so they help you and your whole team. They also have a better chance of being in the linked Domain. Completing Quests is necessary to complete Domain Challenges which advance one’s StarGarden.
Over time a player can advance through five Priest Levels, with bigger bonuses at each level. The only way to get a Domain Priest Bonus is to have an active Title in the Domain you are Subscribed to. This increases the bonuses you get at each level, and speeds up progression through those five levels.
And finally, if you have one of the 9 Unique Titles, these special Titles apply a strong bonus to ANY Subscription in all the Domains. So it’s like 20 Titles in one, but stronger. And cooler.
